Cancun, Mexico

Hi, friends! I'm finally getting around to writing about our beautiful vacation in Cancun, Mexico. With the Coronavirus taking over the world and social distancing happening at the moment, I can't help but reminisce over Mexico's white sandy beaches, sunshine, wearing bikinis everyday, and of course spending time with loved ones.

The day we left we hopped on a plane from freezing Detroit, Michigan to head to Mexico - you better believe we were ecstatic to feel the warm sun on our skin. When Travis and I arrived at the Sunrise Moon Palace(www.moonpalacecancun.com), we were greeted with a Miami Vice and hugs from our family. We are SO grateful all of us were able to coordinate our busy schedules so we could be there together.

We spent most of our time relaxing and reading by the pool...and eating, lots of eating(I might have gained 10 pounds on this trip)! However, we did reserve a couple days to go exploring. We went zip lining near downtown Cancun and another day was spent in Playa del Carmen - which was definitely one of my favorites! The beaches are gorgeous and the shopping seemed endless. My husband, being the salesman that he is, heckled us into some good deals on tequila and knick knacks.

Let's talk food! As far as restaurants goes, the resort had tons of options! There are thirteen restaurants to choose from, we ate at a different one every night. Burgers, Italian, Mexican, seafood, and even Asian cuisine, there's no way you could ever get bored with the restaurant selections!

Travis and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary while in Mexico. We spent the day treating ourselves to a relaxing hydrotherapy and a couples hot stone massage at the resort's glamorous spa, but little did I know my husband had something else up his sleeve. He's so sneaky! Before dinner(which I thought was with family), Travis made another suggested we go down to the lobby's bar for a pre-dinner drink. Drinks in hand, Travis made another suggestion that we go for a "little walk," and me being completely oblivious I went right along not even thinking twice or asking questions. Much to my surprise, Travis had led me to a romantic dinner with live music just for the two of us. I started crying, shocker! After our beautiful dinner, we headed back to our room which had celebratory champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, a hot tub overflowing with bubbles, and rose petals scattered around the entire room. My husband truly outdid himself! I'm blessed to love him and to be loved by him.

Overall, we LOVED our stay at the Sunrise Moon Palace! It was one of the most incredible resorts Travis and myself have ever stayed at, and we would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a family vacation or a romantic getaway!

Here are a few more photos from our trip, enjoy!
